Travel reports
Several trips to various destinations have been organised in the past. Check out the old reports below to get an impression.
Information for registration
The registration form will be available from the 25th of October onwards. You can request the form from a Board member or a member of the Study Tour committee. With your registration we ask you to write a 500 word maximum motivational letter. Registrations will close on the 15th of November.
Extra Information
From the end of July till the beginning of August, we will travel for two weeks to Texas (Houston, Dallas, Austin) and San Francisco (Bay Area, Silicon Valley) with 23 members of the Electrotechnische Vereeniging. The goal of the study tour is to visit several major high-tech companies, research institutes, and technical universities to show the participants the ‘spectrum’ of current possibilities, and challenges in the field of electrical engineering. In addition to this, there will also be cultural and tourist activities, in which the participants have a say too!
Some logistic information about the trip:
- We will depart after the bachelor resits, and return before the EOW starts, specifically: from the 29th of July till the 12th of August 2024.
- All participants ought to perform a case study at a company. This can be compared to doing a short internship of 120 hours with a company, for which the financial compensation goes to financing the trip. Moreover, it's a perfect opportunity to explore the real world applications of your studies!
- Thanks to the case studies, the remaining participation fee for the trip is only around 700 euros*.
- You should have at least 60 ECTS from the 1st year and at least 60 combined ECTS from the 2nd and 3rd year of your Bachelor's degree. An exception for this can be made if explained in your motivational letter.
Are you interested in joining the Spectrum Study Tour? You can request the registration form from a board member or by sending a request to reis-ETV@tudelft.nl . With your registration, we ask you to write a motivational letter of 500 words maximum. Please send the completed registration form along with the motivational letter to reis-ETV@tudelft.nl. Registration will close on the November 15th, 2023. The selection of the participants will be based on the number of registrations, study progress and motivation. The final list of participants will be announced on the 1st of December, 2023. * This is including 3 dinners, but excluding the rest of the eateries due to the freedom in leisure time during the trip. The expectation, however, is that lunch will be oftentimes provided by a company.
